We was saddened to hear that you had gained your wings. To the family y’all have our deepest condolences for the loss of such a wonderful person
To the family of Mr. Lawson it was an honor to know you briefly in years past. You will be missed, but your love for your family and theirs to you has left a hole in their hearts, but hopefully with time the pain will get better and the laughter and love You gave will fill their hearts. We have lost a humble servant, but heaven has gained another angel. Rest In Peace Mr. Lawson
Of course I see your face and I think of my dad. He thought the world of you. You never fussed at me for playing around on the piano or making noise on the drums during male chorus practice. You always gave my dad that “let that girl alone and let her play,” look. And he would let me play just like you told him no questions asked. There are so many good memories that you have left and I treasure them all. Especially you and dad sitting on that couch singing in perfect beautiful harmony without any instruments being played sounding like two angels. It’s recorded in my memory and that’s all I need. Daddy has his friend. I love you Mr. Jessie and to the family, it’s okay you will miss him, but just remember, we will all meet each other again ✝️
I have known Mr Jessie my entire life— Nickelberry, as my dad (his best friend), called him. He was always willing to share knowledge and wisdom. I loved to hear his WWII stories. He was proud to serve our country. But most of all, Mr Jessie was a Christian. He told me that he was ready to meet the Lord. So Nickelberry, tell “Grabs” that we miss him so much. RIP my dear Mr Jessie.
I will miss you tremendously. You have always been a special person in my life as an honorary uncle and loved one. You lived an accomplishing life and I will cherish all of the memories that we have. We love you so much Papa.
I never had the honor to meet this dear man but I knew just by hearing his daughters speak of him that he was a true angel ? ❤. I know you lived a blessed fulfilling life and your girls will cherish those memories for every. God bless you.

We as a family called him Bro. Jessie. The legacy he leaves is a man of faith, honor and faithfulness. His love for the Word and enjoyment of singing Gospel songs was contagious. He loved to share his old Gospel, spiritual song with us when we visited him. Now he has finished the race that was set before him. What’s left? To hear the Lord Jesus declare,”Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord. Your sister
Rest in peace with the Lord dear BrotherJessie. We all will miss you but you are now joyfully with God. We will miss all the great conversations over the phone and when we visited you. All your faith & uplifting comments. You will be remembered in all our hearts & truly missed. Love Brother Garland & Mary
Dear Unk,
I will have nothing to do on Sunday afternoons after worship no making a trip out of Shelby into Tipton County, to Dixonville. Always he was concerned that I had to make the drive alone and always warning me to be careful “baby a lot of traffic out there”. You and Aunt Vi gave us so much of yourselves. You and Mom were typical big sister and younger brother talking over one another and Mother saying “be quiet Jessie and let me talk”. Such a void left that only The Spirit of God can fill with that peace Jesus left here. You loved God and talked about his mercy, love, and how you were protected through all the dangers you experienced. After all the things you went through you STILL had Joy. Absent from the body present with the Lord. Rest in Peace.
Uncle Jessie,
You always had a new and exciting story to tell. As a little girl, I remember being at Granddaddy/ Grandma’s house during the summer when you and Aunt Louise came to visit the amount of joy, laughter and singing in one room was contagious. Truly a Blessing to be around you.
We will never forget you uncle Jesse. Your love for God,family and the church gave us the right perspective. Thank you for loving us and teaching us to be faithful to God and others. God be with you until we meet again. Shalom!
Praying for the Lawson Family.
