  1. I am so sorry for your loss. The Bates family members are in my thoughts and prayers.
Oscar was a good friend, kind hearted and patient. He could always make me laugh.

I pray that God’s love, grace and comfort will ease your pain.

  2. Oscar was my childhood neighbor. His family lived behind us on Rose St. we were one street over on Craig St. Oscar and I became friends during his college years at TSU. We worked together at Walgreens Drugstore in West Nashville and lived in the same apartment complex in North Nashville. We shared a good deal of time together playing cards and doing things that broke college students do.

Our careers took us in different directions and to different cities. We meet up in 2019 for lunch and visited at his home in Atoka. We caught up with each other’s lives and committed to staying in touch. I’m fortunate to have known Oscar.
My deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

  3. I want to extend my prayers and condolences to all of the Bates family on behalf of the entire Wright family. I am Carvin Wright oldest son to Annie Pearl Wright-Dyson. Oscar and I attended Covington High School together although he was a grade higher than me. We grew up in the Covington COGIC Church on Haynie St in Covington, Tennessee. May God rest his soul and he have eternal peace in heaven.
